GLENFIELD PARK SCHOOL COMMUNITY DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES

Morning

  • School gates will open at 7:00am but students should not arrive until 8:45am.
  • Students can be dropped off each morning at 8:45am-9:00am unless negotiated otherwise with School Principal.
  • From 8.45am staff members will greet the students and assist with drop off and ensure the safety of all students.

Afternoon

  • In the afternoon the school gates will not open until 2:00pm.
  • Student’s dismissal is at 2:20pm every afternoon and we will have staff members to assist with pick up and ensure the safety of all students.
  • Students must be collected by 2:30pm as all staff are required to attend a daily staff debrief.

Early Departure or late arrival

  • Use intercom at front gates to gain entry.
  • Sign students in /out at the school office.
  • Slowly drive to front gate upon exit and gates will automatically open.
  • Students must enter and exit school via front office.

Procedural Expectations

  • Parents/Carers do not engage with students while waiting in cars.
  • Parents/Carers must stay in their vehicles unless requested by staff to ensure a smooth drop off and pick up process.
  • During school drop off and pick up, all cars must enter the school gates via Roy Watts Road and exit via the same gate. This is to ensure the safety of all students.
  • Please line up in two lines as indicated by the lines on the road at the top of the roundabout.
  • Parents/carers, when arriving please stay on the circular round-about/driveaway. Please note that taxi transport enters via the same gate but travels through and around the car park to collect the students.
  • Entering and exiting the school at 10km per hour.
  • Following all staff instructions.
  • Be mindful that students are out and about.

Assisted School Travel

The Department of Education Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP) plays a significant role in meeting the needs of eligible students with disability by providing free specialised transport to and from school where parents and carers are unable to provide or arrange transport for the student either fully or in part.

Subsidised school travel

Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.

  • The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
  • The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
