Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Glenfield Park School, a specialist and inclusive learning community dedicated to supporting students with emotional disturbance, mild intellectual disability, and autism. Catering to 70 students from Kindergarten to 17 years, our school is organised into 10 classes, each led by expert teachers and supported by School Learning Support Officers. At Glenfield Park, every student is known, valued, and cared for.
Our commitment to equity, excellence, and wellbeing guides all we do. We provide intensive, trauma-responsive intervention tailored to the unique social, emotional, and academic needs of our complex learners. Grounded in a cognitive-behavioural model and restorative practices, our teaching integrates social and emotional learning with curriculum outcomes. Students engage in all Key Learning Areas with a life skills focus, working towards gaining a RoSA.
Character strengths form the foundation of our approach, empowering students to develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive decision-making skills. Each child benefits from an Individual Learning Plan, regularly reviewed in partnership with families to ensure meaningful progress and success. Building strong relationships is central to our community; open communication through daily updates, phone calls, and meetings fosters collaboration between staff and families.
Yours in Partnership,
Michelle Gomes
